- Overall Impression
- What is the immediate visual impact of the image?
- Composition and Astronomical Understanding
- What level of difficulty was involved in observing and capturing this image?
- Technical Ability
- Colour, lighting, exposure and focus, picture sharpness, noise reduction. How well have the photography skills been executed?
- Originality
- How unique or exotic is this image?
- Artistic Merit
- How visually attractive is the image?
